LDX takes the Ship!

What a game! We began the game by very quickly going up 3-0. This was even a surprise to us because Team Domination is a very good team. With less than a minute left in the first half they scored a goal which brought the half time score to 3-1. The second half began much like the beginning of the first and we quickly put up 2 more goals which brought the score to 5-1. From there we made the mistake like most teams do with a big lead and got lazy. With about 5 minutes left in the game they scored 2 quick goals. We than put back in all of our starters and played a very heavy defense which did not help because they scored another goal. From there it was a kill the clock effort and we almost blew it but managed to escape with the win. Our final intramural sport as a group and we came out one top. Graduating with one last intramural championship to the name of LDX.

going to the Ship

So as expected we won our game tonight. I along with my team were under the impression that the team we had to play tonight was going to be better than they were but they seemed to be off tonight. As a team we played very well in all aspects. Our offense had almost constant pressure and our defense played very well as we registered our second shut out of the playoffs. The final score was 4-0 but the win did come at a cost. One of the kids on the other team was a real dick and was talking a lot of trash to us as well as the fans. With about 10 seconds left in the game, already down 4-0, he decided to slide tackle in to our goalie. Now he has an extremely swollen leg and can barely put any weight on it. We put him on the ice and constant ibuprofen regiment so he can play tomorrow. The next game is for the championship and it's against the only team that beat us all season. However we had only one sub that game and our goalie didn't show up so our team was not what it is now. Hopefully tomorrow night i'll be posting about us winning but most likely not because win or lose we're going to start immediately drinking. LDX going to the pool at Harrahs in A.C.

soccer

So last night started the first round of playoffs for intramural soccer. As expected we won. The final score was 3-0 but personally I don't believe we played that well. Well i'd love to finish this but our next game is tonight and I have to leave right now.

school

OK well school is very close to ending and I would just like to let everyone know since i'm one of two graduating seniors in this class. Don't graduate. This is awful, everyone says its going to be great but I along with my roommates don't understand what all the hype is. Why on earth would anyone want to leave college? This has been by far the best time of my life and I know almost all of my friends feel the same way. This week has started off and is continuing until Thursday night to be the hell week of the semester. Every college kid knows this week. Every teacher has every paper and project due in a few day span so you spend countless hours in the library and staying up all ridiculous hours of the night doing work. Currently i'm very nervous because i'm about to hand in my senior research paper for my senior seminar and that paper alone determines whether or not I graduate. I've basically lived in the library over the past week attempting to get this thing done and have neglected all other classes, sorry professor G! Well its about time for me to get back to the library and keep working. Word to the younger people, DO NOT RUSH COLLEGE! Enjoy every minute you can.

haha drunk

So last night the crew of LDX decided to get recklessly drunk and have a great time. LDX soccer team had a game last night which we won 4-1 and the roommates who weren't on the team came to support us completely hammered. There support however was them rooting for the other team and making fun of us any chance they got. It was really funny to be apart of. After that we came back to the house and pregamed as hard as we could as fast as we could and than went off to JD's pub in Smithville. From there who knows what happened. People got even more drunk and had a great time walking aimlessly and dancing and having chugging contests.

sad times

So as you may already be aware the Stockton Lacrosse Team has three of its players who are from LDX. Well today it is down to two. Our friend Bill who started both sophmore and junior year suddenly got his playing time completely taken away and it was no fault of his own as he played very well in the beginning of the season when he started. The team lost 11-2 yesterday and he got in during garbage time in the 4th quarter and that was the final draw for him so he quit today. The team has another game tomorrow and odds are Chris will yet again not get any playing time which will result in him quitting as well. Chris was recruited to Rutgers to play D1 lacrosse and yet our coach refuses to play him. This will leave just CT on the team who is one of the four captains. We'll keep you posted on the happenings.

sportssssss

LDX is finally coming back in to the intramural scene with a bang. We always knew that we wouldn't be good at hockey but we managed to get two wins and finished with a record of 2-4. That was two more wins than we expected. Softball started a few days ago and as expected we don't care at all. We are 1-3 with two forfeit losses because lets face it, softball is terribly boring so nobody shows up. If we manage to finish the season it would probably be a miracle. However the sport we have been waiting for has finally started, outdoor soccer. We've been lobbying the intramural staff for two years for this league and we finally got it. We have a ridiculously stacked team with four NCAA players from Stockton who have either quit the team or have played there full four years of eligibility. On top of that everyone else played at least all four years in high school and some of us got recruited to other schools to play but ended up here. Our first game we won 4-2 and tonight we won 4-0. We are planning on winning the league and anything less than first place will be a huge disappointment.

Intramurals Update

Sorry about the break everyone, the website has been giving me the 404 error message every time that I have tried to log on in the past few days. To update where we are in the world of sports LDX currently has a .500 record in intramural hockey. We currently sit at 2-2 with just two games left in the season. Currently we aren't sure if the games are going to even be played though because the season was already being rushed due to the upcoming rink maintenance. Us being 2-2 is a big deal because we didn't even plan on winning a single game seeing as how only two people on the team even own hockey equipment or have actually played the game. We do however have an advantage over most teams though. We know every intramural officer so we did not have to hand in a roster so we just add and drop people as we need them just so we have enough to play every night. Because we are so close with the lacrosse team we constantly have an influx of lacrosse players showing up to be on our team every night and not one has played more than one game. Not sure if the regular season will be finished out or if playoffs are going to start but with a .500 record I would imagine we get in. We will keep you posted soon.

We're BACK

So its been a while since the last post but thats due to senior year getting pretty crazy. Also i won't lie I made my password so good that I could not remember it. Last week was spring break which was, depending on where you were, great or terrible. I personally went to Michigan State University and partied every night and ruined my friend for a week during law school and it was great. Other members of LDX went to there actual homes to spend time with family and friends. The lacrosse players were forced to stay at school by themselves and suffer the boredom of an empty campus as well as hurricane type weather conditions. To get everyone caught up on sports we started intramural hockey the day before spring break and as expected we were terrible. We lost 9-1 but none of us play hockey so it was expected. This is the first week back from break so we have 3 games upcoming and I will keep you posted on how we fair as well as stories from over the break. Stay Tuned!

Sports

Update on the weekend of sports for the LDX crew. As posted earlier both the Lacrosse Team and Mens Club Volleyball Team both had there Saturday games canceled. The lacrosse game was to be rescheduled for Sunday but it was again canceled due to the poor weather conditions at the other school. The volleyball team did get to play in their tri-match on Sunday and they played very well. They won both of the games they played in. The first team took them all five matches but saw Stockton coming out victorious in the last match to win the game 3-2. The second game they played in they came out victorious in just three matches to win the game 3-0. Stay tuned for more updates on the teams that we participate in.

Sports

Weekly update to the news in the sporting world for LDX. We had two games scheduled for intramural basketball this week. The first was against a team we are friends with and to our surprise we did not get 50 pointed in our losing effort, we managed to come back and lose by 45. The second game we had scheduled was against the team that won the league last season but thankfully the snow day saved us. For a lacrosse update the team had there season opener scheduled for this Saturday but due to the weather they will now be playing on Sunday. The mens club volleyball team was to have a tri-match on Saturday and than another match on Sunday but Saturday got canceled again due to the snow. Stay tuned to keep up with how we are fairing in our athletic games and teams.

Parties

A solid couple parties in the past few days here at the LDX house. Decided last minute on Friday to throw a party on Saturday and had a very decent turn out. We didn't make the amount of money we're accustomed to but it was still a very solid party. I would estimate around 90 people were here for the party which is a good size because our bangers have around 175. The problem with those however is the house becomes so packed you can barely move. On Monday night we had a mixer for the Lacrosse team and Delta Zeta. For the most part it was a good mixer however there was one big problem that we discovered in the morning. Someone must have fallen in to the sprinkler control box on our garage wall which caused a very large hole in the wall. By the time we leave this place we're going to be pros at spackling and fixing walls.

Sports

We are two weeks in to the intramural basketball season and as predicted we have gone 0-3. Scoring a league wide low at 14 points in our first game we followed up that blinding performance with a forfeit loss. Our last game we played our friends and intramural sports rivals Zeus. The game started off very slow with both teams shooting very poorly. At halftime the score was close to even with Zeus being slightly ahead. The second half went as most of our games normally do. We could not generate any offense and played very poor defense and found ourselves down by 20 at one point. At the end of the game we played to our only strength and out ran the other team. We managed to make a comeback but inevitably ran out of time. Stay tuned for more sports updates as hockey begins soon and the Lacrosse Team and Volleyball Team start there seasons.

Super Bowl

Fourth year of college together and the fourth successful Super Bowl party we've had together as a group of friends. This year we actually cooked the food ourselves rather than buying it from restaurants. We made about twenty pounds of buffalo wings, 10 pizzas and guacamole dip as well as bought regular salsa and queso dip. Our original plan was to use our deep fryer that we use every Thanksgiving to deep fry a turkey for our wings but that plan fell through because we left our oil in the garage and it froze. For anyone who doesn't know, water + deep fryer = explosion and we weren't trying to lose another home on Super Bowl sunday. As a group we were all (excluding one) rooting for the Colts to win because those of us who are really in to football are big Peyton Manning fans. They ended up losing the game 31-17 but we didn't really care because none of us were Colts or Saints fans, we just love football and stuffing our faces with as much food as humanly possible.

History of LDX

In 2006 a group of friends was formed out of blood, steel, gay jokes and a love for drinking. This is their story...This is the first post on the LDX blog. LDX stands for L Dorm Extreme. This is the name we came up with our freshman year of college when we all met each other in L Dorm. LDX quickly became a group of close friends and we got our name out when we started our first intramural flag football team. We had a solid season and became recognized when we upset big name fraternities in the playoffs. Currently we are still a big name in both intramurals and actual school teams. Throughout this group of friends we participate in Stockon's Lacrosse teams, men's club volleyball team, IRC staff and almost created the school's first MMA club and paintball team. Come follow along as we all get set to graduate and end our college careers with a bang.
