Sports

Weekly update to the news in the sporting world for LDX. We had two games scheduled for intramural basketball this week. The first was against a team we are friends with and to our surprise we did not get 50 pointed in our losing effort, we managed to come back and lose by 45. The second game we had scheduled was against the team that won the league last season but thankfully the snow day saved us. For a lacrosse update the team had there season opener scheduled for this Saturday but due to the weather they will now be playing on Sunday. The mens club volleyball team was to have a tri-match on Saturday and than another match on Sunday but Saturday got canceled again due to the snow. Stay tuned to keep up with how we are fairing in our athletic games and teams.

Parties

A solid couple parties in the past few days here at the LDX house. Decided last minute on Friday to throw a party on Saturday and had a very decent turn out. We didn't make the amount of money we're accustomed to but it was still a very solid party. I would estimate around 90 people were here for the party which is a good size because our bangers have around 175. The problem with those however is the house becomes so packed you can barely move. On Monday night we had a mixer for the Lacrosse team and Delta Zeta. For the most part it was a good mixer however there was one big problem that we discovered in the morning. Someone must have fallen in to the sprinkler control box on our garage wall which caused a very large hole in the wall. By the time we leave this place we're going to be pros at spackling and fixing walls.

Sports

We are two weeks in to the intramural basketball season and as predicted we have gone 0-3. Scoring a league wide low at 14 points in our first game we followed up that blinding performance with a forfeit loss. Our last game we played our friends and intramural sports rivals Zeus. The game started off very slow with both teams shooting very poorly. At halftime the score was close to even with Zeus being slightly ahead. The second half went as most of our games normally do. We could not generate any offense and played very poor defense and found ourselves down by 20 at one point. At the end of the game we played to our only strength and out ran the other team. We managed to make a comeback but inevitably ran out of time. Stay tuned for more sports updates as hockey begins soon and the Lacrosse Team and Volleyball Team start there seasons.

Super Bowl

Fourth year of college together and the fourth successful Super Bowl party we've had together as a group of friends. This year we actually cooked the food ourselves rather than buying it from restaurants. We made about twenty pounds of buffalo wings, 10 pizzas and guacamole dip as well as bought regular salsa and queso dip. Our original plan was to use our deep fryer that we use every Thanksgiving to deep fry a turkey for our wings but that plan fell through because we left our oil in the garage and it froze. For anyone who doesn't know, water + deep fryer = explosion and we weren't trying to lose another home on Super Bowl sunday. As a group we were all (excluding one) rooting for the Colts to win because those of us who are really in to football are big Peyton Manning fans. They ended up losing the game 31-17 but we didn't really care because none of us were Colts or Saints fans, we just love football and stuffing our faces with as much food as humanly possible.

History of LDX

In 2006 a group of friends was formed out of blood, steel, gay jokes and a love for drinking. This is their story...This is the first post on the LDX blog. LDX stands for L Dorm Extreme. This is the name we came up with our freshman year of college when we all met each other in L Dorm. LDX quickly became a group of close friends and we got our name out when we started our first intramural flag football team. We had a solid season and became recognized when we upset big name fraternities in the playoffs. Currently we are still a big name in both intramurals and actual school teams. Throughout this group of friends we participate in Stockon's Lacrosse teams, men's club volleyball team, IRC staff and almost created the school's first MMA club and paintball team. Come follow along as we all get set to graduate and end our college careers with a bang.
